Not being an Exchange wizard and being very new to O365 I decided not to handle the migration from Exchange 2003 to O365 myself. I hired an O365 partner to help with the project, which had two main parts. Part one was to configure O365, start mail flowing through it and get all the email on the Exchange Server moved to it. That went well and I was feeling pretty good about my choice of partners.
Part two of the project was importing our archived email into O365. I knew this would be a big, time consuming project, but the tech assured me that not only could he handle it, that it would go much faster than I feared.
TLDR version - On October 15th they started working on importing the PST files. On December 3rd I finally told them to stop because they were not getting anywhere. On the 19th I removed them from the O365 account.
