I'm having a strange and very minor issue with Skype for Business, I am trying to update a user's display name for their Office 365 profile, and it shows up fine for any new Skype for Business install, but with existing users it doesn't seem to update even after a restart. Anyone else run into this minor issue?
Does the Skype for Business contact cache ever update?
Mitigating Risk: How to Make Office 365 Safe for Your Business
You’ve seen the suspicious emails pile up in your junk folder—and those are just the ones that aren’t blocked from ever reaching a folder in the first place. Malicious emails, whether they contain ransomware, phishing attacks, viruses, or another form of cyber annoyance, generally cannot be entirely sidestepped by small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs).
Verizon’s 2018 Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR) found that 49 percent of malware (non-point of sale) was installed by malicious emails. Your email security deflects most of these attacks, but it just takes one getting through to put you in a world of hurt. According to a 2017 Ponemon Institute report, a successful cyberattack costs SMBs, on average, $2.2 million when you add up theft of/damage to IT assets and disruption to business operations.
In theory, Office 365 should give...
Outlook 2016 on Mac autodiscover prompt
I have a Macbook user with Outlook 2016 connected to an Office 365 mail account who is continually prompted thus...
I've told her to select 'Always use this response' and click 'allow' but it keeps coming back. Any ideas?
Sync failed between Azure AD and Office 365
This was set up by a previous member of staff.
A few days ago the sync failed, showing in Office 365 Admin.
If I try to manually kick this off via powershell it errors, and the event viewer has the below. I have restarted, and also I am engaging the firewall/internet provider to check there is nothing being blocked there.
There is no proxy on site, as I found a fix regarding that (https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/3013032/unable-to-communicate-with-the-windows-azure-active...)

Enabling Office 365 Modern Authentication is still an Issue?
Hi,
I'm testing out MFA and so far it's working fine. For my Outlook 2016 client on my desktop I would need to use the App Password to get it connected to Office 365. I read online that I need to enable Modern Authentication through Powershell on the Office 365 Exchange so I don't have to use App Passwords But I have some concerns.
First, here is my setup;
Excel File Corrupted
I have an issue with open my file that I working on past few week please see my screenshot below and hope everyone can get me an answer. I did all the troubleshooting and reference but not get any luck at all. I am working on Office365.
Thank you in advanced.
Security alert on Outlook 2016 + Windows not verifying own certificate?
Hi,
We have a handful of employees who use the Outlook client for their email, etc (everyone else uses the web based). On these clients, they routinely get this error
If you go through and view, then install, it says it is good, BUT it will repeat this on a random cycle. Users can simply click yet, but our director is becoming disgruntled.
I went in to view my certificate to see if I could glean more information and found this
How can my computer not trust this? Is it because the certificate is issued to outlook.office365.com and not to what our email is XXXXXXX.org?
I have done some research and everyone has suggestions, but between my inexperience with this type of issue and fear of messing something else up, I have not been successful. So now I call on the all knowing folks of the spice. TIA
Admin unable to change users passwords in Azure AD
This began suddenly yesterday, I am no longer able to reset a users password in Azure AD. I am logged in as a Global Admin and have checked all the permissions on the on-prem account and the GPO settings. See the following screenshots for errors and issues.
This is the error I receive in Azure when attempting a password reset.

Office 365 | Prevent email send/receive on Android apps when disabling a user
Hi
I am able to block users via script - the Azure token will eventually expire and all Office 65 apps will eventually stop updating (Outlook stops receiving/send email, unable to login to SfB or MS Teams).
The problem is email apps on Android mobile devices. These seem to continue to receive emails, obviously not abiding to the token TTL.
The only solution that I see so far is to disable ActiveSync (script it or via EOL console) but I wonder is there is a better, cleaner way to terminate the connection.
Thanks M
Posting simultaneously in personal and group calendar(s)
Hi Everyone,
I have a request from and end user:
"I saw with the most recent updates (Outlook) a note about being able to add an appointment to a group calendar … can you look into what this is and if it’ll help us add items to our personal calendars and a group calendar at the same time?"
In effect this team leader wants an out-of-office calendar that is automatically updated when someone in that group puts an OOO event in their personal calendar. The OOO calendar then shows who is present at any particular time during the day. Obviously the OOO calendar must be able to have multiple OOO events at the same time.
We are in an Office 365 environment with hosted exchange and MS Office 2016 installed on local machines. Our users do not use the web apps - and Outlook is build 2275 (version 1803).
I've created a test "ooo" Office 365 "group" and...
Issues with OME encryption viewing in Outlook
We have turned on OME for encryption recently for our users. It works fine to send email , but when a user receives a reply back, is there a way to read the reply in the outlook client on PC instead of Outlook on the Web? We only have Outlook on the Web and ActiveSync turned on for users with company owned devices and have enabled MFA for those users. All other users don't have access to Outlook on the Web, but they need to be able to read replies to encrypted emails.
ADFS Setup Help!
HI Guys,
I'm after a little bit of help... I'm trying to get ADFS setup from my lab for testing / building to gain my knowledge but I'm getting stuck.
I've created x2 servers for ADFS.
The first local AD FS server is on my local subnet, where as the second is within a DMZ.
I've got the local AD FS server setup, Not live with 365 yet, but has gone though the installation fine. However, my second server, AD FS Proxy cannot detect the certificate.
As far as I can see I'm not getting any errors so I'm not too sure where I'm going wrong. Any help would be great!
Thanks in advance!
Office 365 - Rooms & Equipment, not accepting appointments
HI
For some reason our office 365 rooms will not accept bookings made by users, the rooms appear in the room list, any changes to capacity populate to the system however when a user (myself included) selects the room and sends the request the appointment isn't added to the room, the user doesn't get an email to say that the request has been successful or not.
The room is set to auto accept if the room is available.
I have created a new room as a test, same issue for all users with the test room, can see the room in the list, but no appointment is added to the system.
Anyone else had this issue?
Thanks in advance for the replies.
Project 2016 Key issues
Where I work we recently upgraded some of our users to 365. I ran into an issue with one individual using Project and Visio 2016 on a Windows 7 machine. I researched how to install all the products with the Office Deployment Tool to create a XML file to install Office365, Vision Pro and Project Standard. Here is the code:
OfficeClientEdition="64"Channel="Broad"SourcePath="\\tol001\win32apps\MICROSOFT\Office 365 Installer"ID="O365ProPlusRetail"ID="en-us"/ ID="VisioProXVolume"ID="en-us"/ ID="ProjectStdXVolume"ID="en-us"/ Level="None"AcceptEULA="TRUE"/Name="FORCEAPPSHUTDOWN"Value="FALSE"/Name="SharedComputerLicensing"Value="0"/Name="PinIconsToTaskbar"Value="TRUE"/
It worked. However when I go into Project 2016 and use the key for it (which is a VLK key) I am getting the following error:

Issues with Outlook Rules applying to a delegated mailbox
Summary: Outlook rules won't automatically sort mail into folders for a delegated mailbox, but will manually.
Details: We are trying to get a department-wide mailbox up and running, "department@company.com."
I've created this mailbox in Office 365 Admin Center, then granted Read and Manage rights and Send on Behalf of rights to 5 different users.
We want to have Outlook rules to move email to subfolders under the department@company.com inbox. There are no issues creating the rule, and once in place it will sort mail properly when manually triggered, but the rule does not filter the email into the correct folder when it is first received.
I suspect this is due to several users having Read and Manage rights to the mailbox, making the rules not apply automatically. Is there a way around this, or will I have to set up OWA rules?
Reject email from exchange rule
We have an email that i can't figure out why it's being rejected. The MS connectivity report X-Microsoft -Antispam gives us rule id's, but how to i cross reference that to the actual rule rejecting it?
We put in some "bad word/profanity rules" and this particular email does not appear to have any of those words. I'm really at a loss and don't understand.

Outlook 365 sending mails which are not being sent
Good Day,

O365 insight - users targeted by phish campaign
Our O365 Security & Compliance dashboard has a section called Insights and Recommendations. One of the insights we always see is a list of users targeted by a phishing campaign. If I dig deeper into it I see that all the attempts to phish these users were blocked.
My question is - what do I do with this information? If everything is blocked, what is the insight or action that I should take? Are they recommending I add additional levels of protection to these accounts since they are the most often targeted?
Or am I completely misreading this report and it means something else entirely?
Cannot export results (Download All) from O365 Audit log search
No matter what browser I use, I'm having the hardest time downloading all results from the Audit log search (Search & Investigation) in Office 365.
Chrome and Edge - do nothing (the click registers but the browser sits there twiddling thumbs)
IE - gives me a prompt to download a .json file which is useless (contents blank)
Firefox - shows the same .json file in the browser but also blank and useless.
I can Save Loaded Results no issue but I need to get everything (Download). Has anyone had any success with this feature?
Tried normal & private browsing in all browsers. Minimal extensions in FF & Chrome (nothing that would interfere with rendering and links though).
Office 365 Accounts
I'm getting up to speed with Office 365. I have an email domain I want to move to Office 365. Half of our users, staff members, need ProPlus licenses for the available Exchange services. The other half, elected officials, need only an email account. The catch is, we need the ability to archive/backup ALL users email.
This brings up two questions:
1. Am I correct that all accounts will need ProPlus or better on all accounts to have email archiving available?
2. Is it even possible to have a mix of license levels on an Office 365 domain, or are all licenses accounts required to be at the same level?
Thanks for helping an O365 noob!
