OneDrive Nonprofit account question
Can a person share OneDrive files and folders they have in a current 5 user Office 365 subscription with volunteers who will have an account setup in a new Nonprofit, Donation level, account?
Local sync of SharePoint - multiple users on same PC
We have a library on O365 SharePoint which contains many folders and files accessed by multiple staff. Some of the staff are part-time and share a desktop. I've already used OneDrive/SharePoint sync client for one user to keep a sync copy on the hard drive. I'd like to allow other users who log in to this PC to access that sync folder.
Is this possible? Will it hose up the sync to have different users modifying the same copies of the files from different logins? Could I just grant access to other users to this user's folder within the Win 10 OS security?
Otherwise, I'm just thinking I map a drive to the URL of the library online for other users and have them work from the browser instead of keeping multiple replicas taking many gigabytes on the same hard drive.

Sending meeting reminders to all attendees - Outlook & Office 365
A client has asked a question today, which I have not actually come across before.
They run a training company and will book in training events months in advance They send the calendar invite to the trainer and trainees at the time of the meeting, which is fine.
However is it possible to use Outlok and/or Office 365 to send a reminder again closer to the time, either by email or preferably via text/sms.
This is in the UK as I did see something about notifications via SMS in Office 365 but it was only for US, Canada and Romania
Outlook connection issues & Shared mailbox issues
Hi, I have spent a week searching and trying different things to no avail. All 3 directors of our company are getting outlook popping up saying disconnected from exchange server, and then almost instantly reconnecting, and then a few seconds dropping again.
They seem to be able to receive and send email, however slower than normal. The second issue is, now when trying to also add shared mailboxes, when you click the mailbox outlook says "unable to access mailbox, Outlook is not connected to exchange server" or along them lines.
So far I have tried
- disabling IPv6
- Disabling HTTP outlook anywhere (wouldn't connect at all)
- windows updates and office updates
- removing shared mailboxes (2nd issue started when trying to re-add)
- Archiving old emails (I have not remade profile as MD mailbox is close to 20gb)
turning off using outlook in cached...
Printing Issues
Good Morning,
We seem to be having a issue printing from Excel, sounds stupid but iam not sure if the issue is either printer/Network/Software related.
Our users work on a RD Win 2012r2 environment. Recently we have been receiving reports that users are unable to print documents from Excel Office 365. they recieve the below error message.
The work around that we have found for the users is to save all of their work and then close all excel documents once closed open the document that they are trying to print and press print this seems to work. For some users this fix is great and we have no further reports, for other users we do this and if they open 3 or 4 documents excel gets into a state again where it is unable to print.
Any advice or fixes would be great. One important piece of information is that no other MS Office application is...
Office 365 logging in issue started yesterday

Exchange 2016 Hybrid Configuration Wizard
Hi,
I don't know what to do here anymore.
We are doing a project for a large educational institute which has multiple Exchange servers in their environment. They migrated to Office 365 but are still using a hybrid set up with their old 2010 Exchange servers.
So my job was to upgrade their environment to have one single 2016 Exchange server onsite as a management server. Exchange installed and all went well until I tried to run the hybrid configuration wizard. I get to the page where it asks for both the on premise Exchange administrator credentials and the Office 365 admin credentials.
The Office 365 details works perfectly but the on premise Exchange admin details keeps giving me an error of incorrect username or password. I am 100% sure the password and username is correct because I logged into the server with it. The server and user...
using Office Deployment to install 365
I have been working on an Office 365 Deployment package for a few weeks now and I have managed to successfully uninstall an Office 2013 volume licensed version and install Office 365. However, that same script does not work for Office 2016. I have used the
Office 365 E1 vs Business Essentials
Hi all,
I have never been able to get the community search tool to yield meaningful results so I apologize for duplicating the question.
That said, here is my scenario: We are migrating from Exchange on-premise to 365 cloud, plus from various previous versions of Office to 365. We have ~100 users that we are thinking will get Enterprise E1 and ~50 that will get Enterprise E3. The problem is that the cost is staggering (and NEVER ENDING but that is a different rant), and I want to be sure I am committing the company's resources in the best way.
The 50 users are desk workers with laptops or desktops and use Outlook / Word / Excel as part of their daily work. They get E3, no question.
Of the 100 users, 85 are mobile (smartphone only) and will never touch a PC. The remaining 15 work inside the building and use a PC on occasion, but could...
Mac Office 365 puts google invites to junk
Hey,
One of my clients is experiencing and issue where the Outlook client puts the google invites into junk.
Their email is not ran though O365, it is ran through Kerio Connect. When Kerio recognises something as spam it'll use this format : "**SPAM**" in the subject, but instead the invitations go straight into the junk folder.
This is also bypassing a rule we setup to re-direct them back into the inbox, and I can't seem to find an answer online.
If anyone has any idea's that'd be fantastic.
New OEM Office 365 Install Location
Microsoft have changed the location for OEM Office 365 install and will be default through the new Windows 10 Control Panel UI. See below:
This means that if you don't see the Office install under control panel/Programs and Features, you will need to go to Settings, Apps, Apps & Features and then search for Office.
The operation cannot be performed Outlook sending email
Re post - I have the exact same issue as the guy below but I still have't had a fix for this.
"The operation cannot be performed because the message has changed." or at times "The operation failed. The messaging interfaces have returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook". The errors would come up when she tried to send a message AFTER when Outlook was set to save a draft (in this case, 3 minutes). When this happened, she couldn't send the message and would have to copy and paste the contents into a new composed mail in order to send it. This was in a terminal server environment and she was using an Exchange account that's hosted on Office 365. While researching the issue online, I saw that users using POP3 and IMAP accounts were experiencing the same thing without a long-term resolution. The short-term...
Moving a shared folder in Sharepoint to the local (former) file server.
I have been handed a project where all of our clients files from their file server were migrated to Sharepoint as part of O365. The project is for me to take on of those folders from Sharepoint, move it to the local server again, give access to specific users and map it to those user's drives. I've figured out the permissions part in O365 but I am in the Admin Console of this client's SharePoint and I am unsure how to move it from there to the local server. Thanks in advance!
Can someone help me with this TLS setup information for email?
Hi Spiceheads,
One of my user requested me to provide the following information to one of the business partners that will setup of the TLS link with our email domain so that they can send us unencrypted mails which contains sensitive information. I do not know whether we have any security certificate setup on our exchange online?
We are currently using office 365 with mimecast inbound and outbound connectors. Where should I get the below information from? Thanks
Do users need admin rights to update office 365 apps?
For example when the yellow bar is shown in Word, Excel Outlook that says "updates available"? Currently in the process of removing local admin rights but I want to make sure that users can still update their current version office apps.
I know they will need admin creds to upgrade from let's say 2016 to 2019 but that's a diff story.
Office 365 sharing domain email with OpenText FirstClass mail server
We have been using the OpenText FirstClass Mail Server, and are in the process of moving email accounts to Office 365.
Our domain will be spread out over both systems. Early adapters would be set up in Office 365, while others will remain in FirstClass. A common hybrid of having both cloud and on-premise SMTP servers and accounts in each.
The FirstClass Mail Server is currently our main email server, and can receive email from the internet. It uses another on-premise SMTP server to send out internet mail. Not sure why. I inherited this setup.
Eventually Office 365 will be the SMTP that accepts mail for the domain, and FirstClass will send any messages through it.
The first step that I am doing is to link Office 365 to our on-premise SMTP.
This should be possible with Office 365 Connectors set up in the Exchange admin center.
Where, when an...
Storing Ex Employee emails while making it accessible and searchable without PST
We use Office 365 for office email and Dropbox/Egnyte for shared file storage.
When a user leaves the company, I want to be able to easily access/search their email but I do not want to maintain their account indefinitely.
I also do not want to maintain multiple 2 to 10 GB PST files.
I am looking at using Migrationwiz to migrate old employee O365 accounts to a single O365 account under a shared email account (I.E. xstaff@somecompany.com).
This would also allow me to set their email addresses as an alias on the shared account.
Does anyone have a better solution?
O365 Add-MailboxFolderPermission Error - user not valid
Hello. First time to post here, and relatively inexperienced in IT, and very inexperienced in PowerShell commands. My colleague shared this script with me, and it seems to work for all users other than the one that I need it to work for.
When I run
Get-MailboxFolderPermission JaneD@company.com:\calendar
for Jane I get the appropriate results. However, when I run
Add-MailboxFolderPermission JackS@company.com:\calendar -User JaneD@company.com -AccessRights reviewer
I get the following error message:
The user "JaneD@company.com" is either not valid SMTP address, or there is no matching information.
+ CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [Add-MailboxFolderPermission], InvalidExternalUserIdException
I am able to run Add-MailboxFolderPermission for JackS for any user that I have tried other than JaneD. Additionally, Jack is unable to share his...
