Currently we have a standalone exchange server and running out of disk space (i.e less than 100 GB left) and we bought another exchange server and moved it to our different location. Bother sites are connected through MPLS (6 mbps). We created a DAG but the issue we had is the log syncing was slowing down the connection. Finally we removed the DAG and brought the server back.
Our current option is to host both the servers at site A or go with Office 365. Our I.T consultants are insisting on going with Office 365 and they want to do this project in one go. I prefer to test it for couple of months, since Office 365 will allow mixed mode (i.e some mailboxes can be hosted in house and some can be hosted with Office 365) I want to test it with five pilot users before proceeding further.
Once we are comfortable with Office 365, I want to migrate one mailbox at a time, we have hundred plus mailboxes and the exchange database size is 470 GB. Some uses have large mailbox (i.e more than 10 GB) but most of them have less than 3 GB mailbox size.
My question is : -
We have invested a lot on servers , licenses , is Office 365 the best way to look forward.
How easy / difficult is the migration process, do I need to involve the I.T consultants or is it a easy to follow procedure.
Are you hosting your emails or did you moved to Office 365. If you did do you like it, if you are hosting your emails did you ever considered moving to Office 365 and what stopped you from moving.
What are the benefits of Office 365 over Exchange hosting.
What are the benefits of Exchanging over Office 365.
Are there any online webinars to go through.
* currently we have 10 Meg fiber internet connection.
