I have Office 365 Business Essentials (no PTSN) for 125 users who are spread out across 5 offices and some remote workers. From an IT support perspective I really like seeing their presence status to see if I can give them IT support. My estimate is that only 1/3 log in, some don't notice when I IM them and that I feel like I'm one of the few people who send IMs. I sent them all an intro email to the program which included a nice video demo on all the features. I figure it could be a nice supplement if Exchange or the internal phone system goes down. I'm also thinking that there might be a decent amount of users who's phone calls are 90%+ internal who'd benefit from a headset w/ a speakerphone option.
Is this limited usage typical?
