We have a certain file that is causing our Excel to stop working when trying to open it. It just seems to be one file that is locally stored on the desktop. All other excel files work fine. The first time I moved it from the users computer to my own it opened and gave me a "isn't enough memory to complete this action" error. Every time thereafter Excel immediately goes to "Excel has stopped working...". I've tried the following:
- -opening the file on multiple machines with the same Office 365 subscription.
- -opening excel first then finding the file and opening (instead of clicking the icon)
- -running excel in safe mode and opening
- -disabling hardware acceleration
- -tested in different windows OS (7 64bit and 8.1 64bit)
- -quick and full repair of Office.
- -ran though document inspector and cleaned.
