I have a client who is running SBS 2011 (using Exchange in house) but they have a pretty poor internet connection (both in bandwidth and reliability terms!).
I am looking at various ways to provide some level of email continuity so that if their connection goes down, email doesn't get bounced.
So far I have looked at various SMTP Store and Forward options, but then it struck me that Office 365 might be able to do something with a hybrid setup. However, I have no experience of hybrid setups!
What I'm thinking is to have O365 as the primary MX running the Hub transport roles and the Mailbox Storage (with all mailboxes) running on the on-premise server. Is this feasable, and what are the licence requirements for this? Do all users need an O365 licence even though they do not have an O365 mailbox?
