Outlook appointment export, time zone issue

Hello,

We are trying to export appointments from one of our client's calendars and then import it back into one of her other calendars. (Very basic task.)

She is on the US west coast and has appointments created by people from London. When we try to export these calendar events to a CSV, Outlook seems store the value as its original London time and does not store the time zone that the event was originally created in. As such, when we import the appointments back into her new calendar, the appointments are 8 hours ahead of where they should be.

When we open the meetings in outlook, a message at the top says: "This meeting has been adjusted to reflect your current time zone. It was initially created in the following time zone: ..."

However, no time zone is stored in the CSV that we are exporting to. Is there any way to do an export/import...

How to remove old retention tag marked on email header

$

We had setup a wrong retention tag for existing retention policy which was keep email for 30 days for retention.  Then we removed it in 3 hours, fewer users mailbox had run this policy.  Their email older than 30 days have all moved to deleted item folder\recoverable item folder.  We have recovered the email messages from recoverable item folder.  However, all email still marked with "Keep 30 days for deleted email" in email header.  Just wonder, how to remove it.  Please advise.

Windows & Office 365 best practices

Hi all,

I searched around and could not find the answer.  I am about to move all my users to Office 365 and have a handful of users still using Windows 7.  Is it best practice to have all users on Windows 10, when using Office 365?  Or does it not matter?  I know as a global admin I can use Azure Active Directory to remotely connect to computers, but only if they are windows 10.  If this has already been asked feel free to delete this post.

Can we talk about Office 365 support and how clueless they are

Office 365 support has really gone downhill. I mean it's never been great for me, but lately it's been the worse it's ever been. I literally just got into a back-and-forth with an agent who insisted I use regular powershell to connect into a tenant that has MFA enabled on all accounts. I tried explaining that it won't work that you have to download a separate Exchange Online Powershell Module but it just wasn't sinking in. They seem to be more concerned with the damn feedback at the end of the call than anything! Other times I've had them tell me they'd call back in an hour or two and then don't call back for literally days.

How to install excluded office application

Hi Guys,

Used SCCM to deploy O365 and excluded a few apps like OneNote, etc.

Now a few users need to install OneNote.  How can install just OneNote (O365 version not 2016)without modifying my current deployment package for O365?

Or could/would I have to create a new package for OneNote only?

If anyone has experienced this, would appreciate guidance/direction.

Thanks,

Office 365 Outlook 1903 - Change default address book for all users

when my users open their address book in outlook here is what they see:

So there are two offline address books (why there are two, I do not know and why one of the two updates immediately like the GAL and the other does not I do not know either) and one Global
Address list. The highlighted offline address book is every users default address book. When they click the “Address Book” that is what they see first.

So… when a change is made in Active Directory to a user’s account, the change is seen almost immediately in the two red underlined address books. The change is NOT seen in the highlighted address book for 24 hours.

So the problem this causes is that a user makes a request to make a change to either their user account or a member of their team’s user account. The helpdesk makes the change in Active Directory and tells the user the...

View logins of user's mailbox (Office 365)?

Hi all. Is there a way for me to view when Outlook clients have connected to a users mailbox? I have a suspicion that someone (internal) created an Outlook profile on their computer in order to access another person's email and there's nothing I can do about it without some kind of log. We do have auditing enabled I believe. Thanks.

Outlook 365 receiving calendar invites as plain text

Switched a client recently from Office 2016 to Office 365.  Now all of their incoming meeting invites or invitations are coming in as Plain text.  If I force the other clients to send as HTML, then they get parsed correctly.  There was no need to do this behaviour before and I don't feel like going around to several hundred Workstations and changing what ever the default setting is (Which they all are on now).

Did a complete uninstall and reinstall.  re-imported pst files.  Still the same issue.

anyone have any suggestions?

Office 365 Visio Freezing when adding swim lanes.

Office 365 Visio Freezing (for about 10sec)  when adding swim lanes or separators.

This worked without issues in office 2016.

The document is being saved to ondrive.

Have compared my version of office with the users and we have the same version but I am unable to recreate this issue using the same file from the user and saving to onedrive.

 Has anyone had this issue?

Merging O365 tennants after an acquisition

Hi, Guys

Firstly, a little background.

About 3 years ago, our company adopted O365, and Skype became a very useful and quite well used tool.

Subsequently, though, some people discovered that Teams was better, and some of them started to use teams.

Great! I was going to then look at how we can get everyone migrated to teams; when our company was brought out!

OK, so no big deal, we just go through the M&A aspect and take on their rules and regs.

Except that they're ALSO in the process of migrating their users to O365, from Google.

OK, well, we're now the early adopters, especially since we're all experienced in administering O365. I can live with that.

However, we now need to force the Skype users to move their logins from our old tenant, to the new.

I don't want to disable Teams, just yet, as I've still got to figure out if/how to migrate...

RDS Server 2016 & Office 365 (cached or not?)

Hi all,

we currently have an on-prem Exchange 2010 Server, and 3 x 2008 R2 Terminal Servers.

We plan to upgrade to Server 2016, with 4 RDS servers.

We also need to move to Office 365. We currently have 70 users, with about 500GB on the exchange Server.

Cached mode doesn't get used for the TS users, and isn't an issue due to the Exchange Server being local.

Should we consider cached mode for Office 365?

Has anyone used User Profile disks?

I'm really open to options and questions at this stage. Thank you.

O365 switching on modern auth will this affect my IIS SMTP relay server for MFD

Office 365 ProPlus - I don't want users to have to authenticate. Workarounds?

Hey all,

Are there any workarounds for this?

Basically, I have 2 computer labs with 30 computers each. I want to start deploying Office 365 ProPlus next month. My users tend to freak out every time there is something new, so I really just want to set something up and forget it.

I have been looking at shared computer licensing with O365 and there is also a setting called SCLCacheOverride which, if I understand it, allows us to roam the auth.txt file that authenticates Office based on the user. We just need to have that text file be available to the user every time they log in, so we need to either set up a roaming profile or network share with group policy.

This seems like a lot of work and headache just to keep the user from having to log in to Office each time - and in addition to that they STILL need to log in which I was trying to...

hybrid setup - 365 users blocked due to spoofing

migrating to 365 from exchange 2013 onsite.

currently setup hybrid, moved 2 mailboxes to 365.

inbound email flow goes:

(1)WAN to (2)Router to (3)Barracuda onsite spam box to (4)Exchange

router just passes traffic to barracuda.

users already migrated to 365 sends email to user still on the on-premise exchange server, fails with

RecipientStatus:[{LED=550 rejecting spoofed message};{MSG=};{FQDN=mail.exampledomain.com};{IP=,mywanIP};{

is it time for me to add 365 to my MX records on external DNS?

what I had been reading seemed to indicate that was done once I moved all my mailboxes to 365

Using index and match with a sql connection query on Excel

$

Hi,

I have a sheet which connects to sql for data and another sheet which is just records of manual data. A third sheet compares these two sheets using an index and match formula driven from a cell.

The formula works fine if I change the value in the cell for the data of the manual sheet but the sql linked data errors with N/A. Im confident that my formula is correct as it works for the data when referencing the manual data. Strangely enough I got it to work for the SQL data but now its playing up again - any ideas what I am doing wrong please?

Text
=INDEX(Data!A:A,MATCH(Coparison!M2,Data!A:A,0))

On the above I realise I am asking for the same result as I am comparing to but this is almost a check procedure and as you can see below this works for the manual data

Text
=INDEX(ManualData!K:K,MATCH(Coparison!M2,ManualData!K:K,0))

View Exchange Online rate limit counter.

$

I know that Exchange Online has a rate limit of 10,000 emails sent a day on a rolling 24/hr time period. My problem is that I have no way to tell if I have hit this limit other than messages bouncing with errors that suggest I have but aren't decisive. It also doesn't tell me when I can start sending messages again since the period is a "rolling" period.

As far as I can tell the Admin portal shows daily but is well over 24 hours behind.

How does MS expect us to just magically know when users have hit the limit and when they can start sending messages again? If they are going to put a counter it would be nice to view it.

What I am looking for: A way to confirm at the current time how many emails have been sent from a specific user.

What I am not looking for: Helping me decipher the error messages as that doesn't really solve my problem....
