We've recently moved over to Office 365, we're using DirSync and we've migrated mailboxes over and repointed the MX.
I started having problem with the Helpdesk email I'm using for Spiceworks, when I checked the 365 it said the account was "In Cloud" (I'm fairly certain it was previously showing as Synced with AD) and I was getting Synchronization reports telling me there was a duplicate Proxy address. I ran an LDAP query on my server and it only returned one so I decided to remove the 365 In Cloud user and see if it would sort itself out.
When I did the delete user it informed me that the (E1) license assigned would be released for re-use........ however on the next DirSync run it's now saying "Unable to restore user from a deleted state because there are no more available licences that match what this deleted user is assigned.
