Remove ADFS and just revert to DirSync on same OFF365 Tenant?

Hi All

We have an existing Off365 tenant, which we had initially used for Lync Online. At the time, the setup process had us install ADFS 2.0 as part of the install (I never really understood why, I just followed the instructions)... Now we have discontinued use of our Lync Online subscription, but we have added Exchange Online licensing to our already existing tenant, and from what I can tell, AD information relating to Exchange is synced using DirSync (there was an older version installed from the Lync Online days, but I recently updated to the Azure version that supports Pass Hash Sync).

I recently saw a message in our Off365 management portal saying that the certificate on our ADFS server was due to expire, and that failure to renew it within 25 days would result in access to Off365 being revoked for all our users (not that we are using it yet, we haven't started the migration process).

We don't need ADFS, we plan to do a cutover migration and use DirSync moving forward for syncing our AD.

Does anyone know how I can get rid of ADFS and just rely on DirSync please? Do I have to remove ADFS and DirSync and start from scratch again? Should I delete all of the synced users in my Off365 tenant?

Thanks in advance!

Dave
