Hi all,
My company is going through a name change. We currently have <80 employees using O365 and I implemented Azure AD a few months ago. I'm on a weird timeline, since the name will not be known to everyone until we go live, so I have to figure out the best way to do this without revealing the name.
Does anyone have experience with this? I think theres two ways to do it, one as a workaround and one "right" way to do it.
Workaround would be to create bulk email aliases as primary addresses in AD attributes (SMTP: and smtp:) on the day of going live. This would be the fastest way without any downtime, but my concerns would be with Azure AD breaking
The right way would be to add a new @xx.com record to the user logon name, update whatever needs to be updated in Azure AD, actually I don't really know what to do haha. I'm planning on talking to Microsoft this week to figure this out but I wanted to reach out to the community here first.
Give me your insights my friends. Thank you!
