I had a user recently click on a crypto virus, the machine was reformatted, and the user was able to get up and going again. Once the machine was reformatted, the user started receiving a lot of spam mail, by a lot of spam mail I mean 100 emails a minute.
I blocked some IP addresses, but the amount was just too much to keep looking at the email headers and then add the IP to blacklist portal. I ticked the option in office 365 user portal to only allow safe senders for that user witch is working fine, but now two days after the user is still receiving spam from various Gmail and Hotmail accounts as well as other domains. Not as frequently though.
Whats even more annoying is that emails are being sent on "behalf" of other people. (See below) - is this a new method of spamming sending emails on behalf of ?
