MS Office 365 Error message

so I just got through upgrading to office 365 from 2013 and when it finishes and I go to open any of the products I get a pop that states something went wrong we couldn't start your program.  this is on windows 7 and I have done about 40 of these so far with no issues but I cannot get this to work.  I googled it and went through all of the steps of the fix it tool uninstalling it and putting it back, I cleared out the registry for anything 2013 related and rebooted several times and yet I still get this message, I even logged in with a fresh profile and it still does the same thing.  after googling everything I am still stuck and my last resort is to reimaged which I really don't want to do.  HELP
