I am planning to move my company off on-premise Exchange 2010 to Office 365.
I have a single forest, single domain Active Directory setup. The forest root domain is "server.local" ... yeah, many years ago the original sysadmin did a punch-through install of SBS 2003 on the single server named (cleverly) 'SERVER' and I've lived with that for the last ten years. : (
We own a couple of registered domain names, say "mycompany.com" and"mycompany.net". We currently get our email on the "mycompany.com" domain.
For years I have contemplated creating an entirely new AD forest/domain with "mycompany.net",installing a parallel Exchange org in the new domain, and migrating all the users and mailboxes over - thus starting fresh and ditching all the SBS/Exchange 2003 junk still lingering in AD.
