OK, i have an old program written in VB6, that is used for POS.
It's emailing functions are pretty basic, but have migrated some stores to Office 365 and the email function doesn't work.
the program connects to SMTP directly, depending oin registry entry. this used to be a problem because it would depend on ISP, which often changed. unfortunately the program also sends data to head office in email. for these stores the ISP smtp doesn't work, so changed to O365 credentials.
but the registry either wants port 25 or 465 (using SSL). Office 365 uses port 587 and TLS. i changed to 587, left SSL key as Yes, and nothing comes through.
is there a way to track this, or another way to do it. O365 seems to want to be TLS, which i understand is a successor to SSL anyway, but as this is all hard coded i am limited by options and understanding of what...
