Just downloaded Office 365 University edition on new ASUS all-in-one pc operating windows 8, since install I have opened word and outlook etc which have worked fine. The computer is only a couple of days old. the error message i receive when trying to open any of the MS Office programs is:
Something went wrong
We couldn't start your program. please try starting it again. If it wont start, try repairing office form 'programs and features in the control panel.
What I thought may have cause the error:
- The original user account i downloaded office through was n administrator which i then later changed to a standard user, i have changed user account back to administrator but still same issue.
- I turned off automatic updates, I have turned this back on and restarted pc a number of times to allow for an necessary updates to install but still same issue.
With the pc being fairly new i would rather not download any additional programs to counter the problem and clog the computer up at such an early stage. My original decision was between an Acer and the Asus all-in-one so some reassurance that the problem is not due to the quality of the PC itself would be appreciated.
