We have Exchange 2010 and Exchange cals under Software Assurance which has to be renewed in 2 months time. Our I.T Consultants are recommending to go with Office 365. We own our servers, licenses and Barracuda for spam filtering, everything works perfect. They keep insisting us to go with Office 365.
Pro's :- Immediate cost savings, No Servers, No barracuda, no monitoring
Con's :- No downgrade rights (I spoke with the Microsoft rep and he told me there are no downgrade rights i.e. you cannot downgrade.
Also how long Microsoft will archive emails (1 month, 1 year, 7 years) some of our users have emails from last 8 years.
Their (It Consultant ) benefit is they will get the project to migrate and they will get the business plus not sure if there are any monthly benefits.
My understanding is why not use the current set up when everything is working perfect.
Please suggest.
