Yesterday at the RSA conference,Microsoft outlines plans to introduce tighter security measures in Office 365 and Azure, such as content-level encryption and user-generated encryption keys, which allow users to revoke encryption keys in the event of a cyber attack.
While Microsoft already encrypts emails in Exchange, ZDNetreportsthat the new features offergreater customer reassurance. One new security feature will be content-level encryption, which will be rolled out by the year's end and will ensure that "data [is] ... protected even if someone gains access to the unencrypted disk contents." ZDNet adds that this feature is already "in place for files stored in SharePoint Online."
Microsoft also outlined a new feature called Customer Lockbox, which "is intended to reassure customers about unauthorized access to their data." Customer...
