Ok, I need to build a pros and cons list for management on the pros and cons of moving the current home areas that are on a local fileserver to the cloud.
At the moment, they are not massively used, and as the old system is a 2003 one, I am keen to decom. As we have E3 it seems a good idea to utilize OneDrive for business. Most of the files are personal ones but some people see to put everything in there which is the argument no matter what user backup location you use.
Pros:
No local backup any more
Cloud Access from anywhere/any device so easier access
Cons:
As no local backup recovery is limited to Microsoft
Will need to turn on mobile access controls so all devices that access one drive must have some valid security (been asking this for but keep getting pushed back)
