It's becoming obvious we can't use the GAL for our customer contacts so I'm seeking an alternative that works everywhere. We're new Office 365 E3 subscribers.
Has anyone used a Shared Mailbox instead of the GAL?
I want allusers to be able to easily access it and change it.
ZetaFax and ZetaDocs have to be able to open it both on Windows 7 and our Server 2008 R2 RDS (Shared contact folders don't appear in ZetaFax/ZetaDocs at the moment but I've got Equisys looking at it).
OWA and mobile phones need to be able to see it.
I don't want users to send from it (configurable in 365) and I'd really like it to not show in the Outlook accounts list.
It would be nice if the GAL could be set up to behave like any other contact list in Outlook, but coming from it's AD roots I don't think that will ever happen.
Is Shared Mailbox the way to go?
