A couple of months back, we performed a successful cutover migration from our OnPrem Exchange 2010 to Office 365 (well, technicaly, Exchange Online Plan 2, but you know...).
As of today, our OnPrem Exchange Org still exists, although it's obviously now defunct.The setup is:
1 x CAS/HT server (now with MBX role installed)
2 x MBX servers in a DAG
We are syncing our OnPrem AD via DirSync with password hash.
I wanted to remove the OnPrem Exchange and reclaim the space taken up by the MBX stores on our shared storage, but I'm loathe to do so yet. I raised a support call with Microsoft, who told me that I can just go ahead and remove Exchange from the 2 DAG MBX servers, and simply leave the CAS/HT server present, so that we can continue to administer Exchange-related AD properties on user objects, yet I've read various articles suggesting...
