I have a user that needs an alias or alternate email address. We are using adsync to sync our local Server 2012 R2 Active Directory to Office 365. If I go to Admin-Exchange, find the user, double click for the properties, go to email address and add another smtp address I get the following error:
The operation on mailbox "USERS NAME" failed because it's out of the current user's write scope. The action 'Set-Mailbox', 'EmailAddresses', can't be performed on the object 'USERS NAME' because the object is being synchronized from your on-premises organization. This action should be performed on the object in your on-premises organization. (I removed the users name to protect the innocent ;) )
This makes sense, however my local AD does not have the email tab on the user properties because we do not have a local exchange environment. Is there...
